US Admissions Guidance Since 2020

WHO IS UAH?
At UAH, we don't believe in collecting extracurricular activities or manufacturing impressive-sounding stories.
And unlike traditional admissions consultancies, you work directly with our founders.
Our boutique mentoring team brings experience and educational backgrounds from MIT, Harvard, Stanford, and IIT, combining global admissions insight with personal attention.
Our Team
Our team works closely with students to discover their strengths, explore their interests, build meaningful experiences, and develop a coherent university admissions strategy.

Abhishek is a millennial impact strategist focused on mentoring young people and building new ventures. At UaH, he is responsible for mentoring and advisory services. A graduate of MIT Sloan and IIT Delhi, he spent time in strategy, and sales and marketing before starting UAH.
LinkedIn
Ronke is an international higher education specialist with experience in university admissions and student recruitment across Africa. At UAH, she serves as the Ghana Student Advisor, helping students and families navigate global university opportunities.
LinkedIn
Vidisha is our 'go-to-person' for everything at UAH. From technology development and customer acquisition, to student mentoring and even accounts, Vidisha has touched every function at UAH. Previously she studied at Harvard University, and has gloriously failed at a number of startups before starting UAH. She hopes to do better here!
LinkedInWHAT TOP UNIVERSITIES LOOK FOR
Strong IB and Cambridge results are an important foundation. But at universities like Harvard, Stanford, MIT, Oxford, and Cambridge, academic excellence alone rarely guarantees admission.
What universities look for differs by country, institution, and course. Understanding these expectations early helps you focus on what matters.
Strong grades, rigorous subject choices, and consistent academic performance. Universities assess your preparation in the context of your curriculum and intended course.
A genuine interest in learning beyond the classroom. This could mean exploring a subject through independent projects, research, competitions, reading, or academic enrichment.
For universities that consider extracurricular activities, sustained commitment and meaningful achievement matter more than a long list of unrelated activities.
What have you done with your interests and opportunities? Universities that assess these qualities value evidence of initiative, problem-solving, leadership, and contribution.
Your essays, recommendations, personal statements, and interviews should provide evidence of your strengths, motivations, and readiness for university.
HOW WE HELP
Every student brings a different combination of strengths, interests, opportunities, and ambitions. Your admissions strategy should reflect that.
